I have a 99cc predator engine with the governor removed it's new and I just installed it on my bike 2 days ago. When I tried to turn it on it will not turn on. When I applied the choke and full throttle and tried to turn it on flames shoot out the exhaust and makes a loud pop sound. I proceeded to drain the oil and check the timing on the cam and made sure the timing was right (two dots aligned on the gears). I checked for spark on the spark plug gets good spark. I made sure gas was flowing to the carb it was float bowl was full. I drained the gas from the carb and checked to make sure if the Jets were loose and they were not they were tight. The carb is new aftermarket from AGK. Killswitch is not connected to the motor and the rope pul loosing has been removed and I'm using a rope to pull start it. I checked if one of the valves on the head was loose and they were both on correctly as I spun the flywheel they loosened and tightened like they should. It still has not run I haven't checked the valve clearance yet and will buy a feeler gauge to do so maybe today. I do not know what else to check. Intake from carb is tight with no leaks.

I'm using 87 gas, I tried no choke no throttle, choke no throttle, no choke half throtthle, no choke full throttle. :-||

I got it to turn on, for anyone else that has the same problem this is what I did.

I bought a feeler gauge and then adjusted the valves to .004 and it turned on, on the first pull. The valves were not adjusted properly by the previous owner when he removed the governor.

Ignore this: 79cc not starting backfiring flames our the exhaust (to make it easier to search)

Now the only problem I have now is I might have put to much oil on the EZQmatic max torque clutch because it won't move at all from dead stop unless I pedal quite a lot or apply max throttle.

Clean the clutch with brake cleaner and make sure there's no oil on the belt. Clutch bushing only needs a few drops of oil.

I cleaned it yesterday with dish soap and water and still same thing but will try brake cleaner this time see if it helps any.

Maybe your belt is too loose. What is your gear ratio? What does it do? Does the motor rev up and still it doesn't move? Does it bog? You got a new carb, so what does the spark plug look like?

On the 212 I set my lash to .001/.001 as it will open up as it warms up, and you don't want the pushrods slamming the rockers.

I set the lash using the numbers from AGK.

Here's a video of what it does:

https://youtu.be/qONQHLUNl-M

As you can see in the video whenever it's on the floor it will not move forward when I apply throttle I have to lift the bike to see the wheel move. When I ride it i have to pedal to max speed and apply throttle to get it moving. My gear ratio is 56 Sprocket with the EZQmatic small front pulley and the rear rear pulley. I was told by the EZQMATIC people that it's set up for hill climbing but the other pulley I received which is bigger I can use for more top speed currently it can get close to maxing it out at 32mph (checked with gps).

So right now it should have more torque because when I put the bigger front pulley I will get more speed but I can't imagine it even moving with it because it won't even move now.

This is a new engine and it's running great I'm sure it's not the Carb. Spark plug is currently white but slowly turning brownish as I ride it more. The engine has about 2 miles on it, it is brand new. Previous owner never used it.

Your belt is loose. I need to see what is going on with the belt and the tensioner for more than 2 seconds. But I think your belt is slipping too much. Get rid of that tensioner if you can and run a belt that fits tight. Or modify the tensioner to be solid no spring. That belt needs to be tight and I could see it moving off the rear pulley.

Can't see a damn thing with that video.

So today I tightened the belt by using the bigger front pulley and making the belt tighter, the belt is even tighter now it's very tight. I believe the tensioner isn't an issue because all EZQMATIC transmissions have them and it's a brand new belt.

I took another video of just the transmission, any other ideas? Maybe the clutch needs to engage sooner?

Make sure your throttle is opening the butterfly or slide fully. Didn't rev too much there.
It's revs all the way, I didn't want to rev more because then it slowly starts to move forward and I only had my kickstand holding the bike. I think it's the clutch and that's how it it'll always be sucks but nothing I can do my 49cc Huasheng accelerates faster than this. Disappointed with this ez qmatic transmission and engine maybe if I replace the clutch to a cheetah clutch?
