G5 Transmission

Hello everyone;
I heard a clacking and noisy sounds coming from the motor, and lost forward motion on the bike. It's a G5 Huasheng. I took of the cover of the transmission, and found 2 wave washers in the cover, of which one of them is bent and needs replacement. I removed the transmission and both shafts are terribly loose, wobbling all over the place. I called Bike Berry, and they don't think anything is wrong with the transmission. I feel that the transmission needs to be replaced. I started the motor and the clutch is working just like it is supposed to.
May I have some comments please???
Thanks you for reading this
Dave

Your output shaft bearing(s) is/are shot.

The shaft with the output sprocket is not true to the input shaft.
Yes, that is a hard failure.

I don't the 5G is the worst tranney, it at least has bearings on both shafts, the 7G only has an output shaft bearing.

Thank you KC, I thought the same thing. By the time you read this, I have shipped it back to BB for a repair or replacement, and am looking for a better tranny. I have only 600 miles this one. I have the understanding that this motor has a tapered shaft. I have also seen on this website a belt drive can replace it. Is this any better? Do you have a choice where I should get it? Thanks,
Dave

Ohh, I might have a better option for that engine when you want to upgrade to when your new 5G fails again, something quite and reliable, and even a place to buy it from ;-}

Search this site for my 10G transfer case topics here.
I have spent a year developing/improving a new belt drive system for direct drive and shifting builds for your engine.

KC;
Thanks for the reply, you can cancel the PM I sent you, I found the information about the 10G, I am really impressed. My motor does not sit that far forward as in your pics, my bike frame does not allow it. I can send you some pics if you like. I only have a couple of questions: Will it fit on my bike, and how much does it cost?
Many thanks, Dave

i had a procedure done in the hospital yesterday,I'll do that as soon as I can.....so it will be done in a few days....
Thank you

KC,
I can resize in photobucket, but for the life of me I am not able to upload the photos out of photobucket into my message. The replacement transmission will arrive today. I really doubt that it will last very long either. I'll contact you through your website. Hopefully I will be able to send them to you there.
Thank you for reading this. Dave

I am doing just fine, thank you, just recuperating for another week. I finally uploaded the pictures of the bike. Do I have enough room to use one of your trannys?

Thanks you very much for your help!
Dave

Yes the direct drive 10G will bolt right on and work as your bike is.

The long shaft shifter version has a new base plate as well and will work on that frame but your engine will be farther forward so you will need your exhaust pipe cut down a bit.

Thank you for your reply. I am not very optimistic of the replacement transmission lasting any longer than the original. Maybe it will, maybe it won't. We will see. I have seen your website and what you offer, and I am impressed. Are we on the same page, regarding replacing my transmission, with just the tranny, or is it with all the other things that go long with it? I'll do a little more looking into this particular item. One important question..... what is the cost?

Thank you for reading this!
Dave

You toasted your main bearings on the last one, oil the new ones up, they should all be oiled regularly.

Yes, it is a bolt on direct replacement for direct drive.
I won't know what my cost is until they get here, but the price will be in line with the old 4G's, ~$150-$200.

That is just great! I will give it real consideration. I have the understanding the motor has a tapered shaft, and it was purchased form BB.

Thank you very much, KC!!
