Willow Springs Motorized bike races

We had a 50cc and under 4 stroke class at previous races.
I would really like to revive that race class.
Right now you could race in the lower Midrange class or with the China girl Amateur class at the April 12th race until we build the numbers up.
Just a note on the safety gear that Full face DOT helmets are required to race.
No more Open face helmets on the track.
Full face helmets are specified by the race tracks insurance company and Willow Springs Raceway.

All SMBR races are going to have pre registration now.
Racers will get a $10 race fee discount for pre registration.
We are going to have a yearly membership too.

To register for the Sat April 12th Socal Motor Bicycle Racing event.
Please email [email protected] with the following info.
PLEASE PUT YOUR RACE # IN THE EMAIL SUBJECT.
1) #? Your race number if you have one.
2) Your name and your forum nickname.
3) What motor/s / class bike/s are you racing?
DO YOU HAVE A FULL FACE HELMET & ALL THE REQUIRED SAFETY GEAR?
4) Are you racing in 2 or 3 classes?
5) Are any spectators, pit crew coming with you?
6) Are you arriving on Friday or Sat?
Do you want to practice on the go kart track on Fri for only $10 extra from noon to 5pm? (Reg price is $25)
7) Can you help out with running the event?
Race entry fee is $40
Pre register race fee is $30 SAVE $10
2nd race class is $5
3rd race class is $5
Willow Springs gate fee is $10 for everyone.
Under 8 is free.

DOT rated FULL FACE helmet or better like Snell.
No open face helmets.
No bicycle helmets.
No novelty motorcycle helmets without DOT certification.
Eye protection.
Gauntlet Gloves. No bare hands.
Knee and elbow pads or full leathers or Motocross gear with knee, elbow and shoulder pads.
SHOULDER PADDING, Protection is highly recommended.
A BACK PROTECTOR is highly recommended.
If you wear a leather jacket you don't need elbow pads.
Long pants, no shorts or no exposed skin please.
Ankle protecting boots.
The pit road speed limit is 5 mph and will be STRICTLY ENFORCED.
NO drinking alcohol if you are riding on the track.
Minors must have their Parent or Guardian there to sign the waiver.

Sorry to say, I will be missing this race. I will be out of town that weekend. I'm especially going to miss the chance to have a shot at a trophy with the splitting of midrange engine classes, and the briggs bikes racing against whizzer and predator engines.
Good luck to Andy and any of the other LA homies that show up.

Great, the race is on. Still pull together the bikes from last time. Attempting an aluminum flywheel transplant on the GC160 and valve spring washers to fix the float problem - a little. The China Girl engine is also on it's way from Dave Rust at Arrow Motorized Cycles. Cutting it close ...

Going to make the trophies for the April 12th race myself.
Black marble,stainless steel and 1/8" wall aluminum columns.
I hope I can get more of those sprockets and gotta get some
SMBR stickers made up.

Shaun at Myrons Mopeds in Fullerton is donating a bunch of those 28 tooth Tomos sprockets to the race so I can make the rest of the trophies.Those trophies look nice......looks like they have a magnetic base!
The sprockets are a good fit for 415 chain and have 4 mounting holes with a 1 11/16" center hole.
Who's showing up? The usual group?

More than competition Scotto. Just happy if I'm still able to see you in front of me by the end of the race.
I'll be there more than likely.......you need some competition.
Temp looks good but with all the earthquakes lately my son and I are the only ones with suspension to smooth out a 7.0.
i'll be there. wanted to go friday night but i gotta pull a night shift at my roomate's bar while he's out of town. if i have the energy, probably close up at 2 then get on the road. if not, catch a few zzz's and leave at dawn...
Looks like I will have to skip this race.
