I found a great deal on a new 2013 Felt Cafe 3. Wondering if anyone has motorized one.

Ya, I know my finger is in the pic.

I see several difficulties right away. Aluminum frame, odd sized frame, skinny tires, three speed, etc.

I still think I can do it though. Thinking Honda gx 50, SBP shift kit.

It almost seems like too nice of a bike to start in on but I think it would be a great daily driver if I could make it work,

Any Experience or opinions appreciated.

Thanks

Looks like a great bike! Anything is possible as long as you've got the time and patience to sort everything out.

Good luck!!

This bike has my interest in that it has disc brakes and front suspension......and a great price! However, the frame has an odd shape. Might make a good winter project for me...

Thats a real nice looking bike but that frame size and design worries me for putting an engine in it, and the fact that it's Aluminum always worries me also, I know several people have used aluminum frames and that is fine but that frame is very compact, I have a Schwinn City Link with a similar type frame, I managed to squeeze a china girl into it but it was a real pain and I had to make a custom long intake so the carb could be mounted and hang outside the frame, never could get it to workout the way I wanted it to so I pretty much stripped the bike and am using parts on other bikes.

Yep Map, think you are right. It was such a nice bike and they really wanted to sell it. Think I will have to pass. Better choices out there. Like xseller's pick.

Pluto, your felt bike will work fine with an engine but the bike I was concerned about is the one that xseler had posted a link too, the felt bike will probably be a good candidate for a shifter bike if that 3 speed hub will hold up to it.
