bigger turn signals not flashing

i got this

working with these and they work good but a bit too little

so i bought these

a bit bigger and for some reason they will light up but will not flash , i got 2 of the 2pin flasher units and will not flash with any of them,but the smaller set does ok i running of a 12v 8aa battery's but my brake/running light comes on fine and the little led lights work fine but these bigger ones don't are they faulty ???

turn signals usually work by having the current to the bulbs heat a bi-metallic strip - if the current isn't high enough, no flash

you went from regular element to LED...theres not enough load on your flasher to warm it up

Usually you have to use a load resistor with the led. Do a search on led load resistor. They are required if you changed from a filament bulb to an led, led flash too fast, or no flashing. Be aware that the heat sinks get hot and need to be mounted on metal.

That's true, a load resistor will allow you to use your original flasher relay (incandescent) with LEDs - but if you'd like to enjoy the reduced power consumption of the LED units, you'd prolly want to go with something like this LED flasher relay instead, they're usually around $8 or so: http://www.amazon.com/3-Pin-CF-13-Electronic-Flasher-Signal/dp/B008C9YJ6C/

Correct - or any LED specific flasher relay, there's a bunch to choose from... I think that's the one I used for this all LED setup;

sweet because im using the same signals as old pot, when i connected it the first time i blew the bulb on one so i have installed load resisters but ive been munually signalling threw the thumb switch and those load resisters kill batteries qiuckly so ill try using the led flasher and remove the load resisters and see how the battery holds up after..thanks hopefully this will helps us

hi .thanks for the info , i did not changed from filament bulb to an led , the 2 sets of turn lights i got are both leds , one is 6 leds , that work the new set are 14 leds and not working ,now i know why , i just checked them on my car battery , and they work , looks like there was not enough juice going to them (but why did the 6 leds set work then??that 12v as well ) looks like i have to get a 12v battery and charger (instead of the 8 aa battery's i been using )

will this work , and how long would it last (just running the 14 led turn lights and a brake /running light before need to charge it up.
