Hi my name is David I live in Fort Worth,Texas and I am new to this. I have finished my first build. She is a silver Schwinn Delmar with a 68.5cc slant black X80-BK China girl 2 stroke kit on her. Any feedback is welcome I would like to learn more about how to get more performance out of her. The kit came with a 44T rear sprocket that works well but I do not like the way the sprocket is mounted, also I don't like the chain tensioner any input?

Welcome to the forum. Good looking build. I would add a front brake. A front caliper brake is inexpensive and helps a lot in emergency stops.

Hi David, I second the front brake. That would be my first performance mod, then an NT Speed carb and a Sick Bike Parts expansion chamber along with port matching if you are mechanically savy. Also there is a sprocket mounting hub that clamps down to the hub instead of the rag joint/spoke thing but they are kinda pricey.

Hi David, welcome to the forum from Dallas. We're that big city 30 miles East of you lol.

Your bike looks great. Start saving up for better wheels and brakes. The stock wheels won't last long at 30 mph.

The front brake is next as for the rest of the goodies I am going to make the pipe and other stuff as I can at work I am a machinist by trade.
That's going to come real handy for you in the future. And maybe me to pal.

And one day you will be one of the guys that got so hooked on these things that you started a business and began using his skills to make trick parts for all of us!
This is a great hobby for someone with your skills!

Well I had a head stud back out of the lower end a few days ago and she has not been the same since. I took some advice from some people on here and made new head studs today at work and while I had the head off I "lapped" the head, cleaned the burn marks off the gasket with Scotch Brite pad. Put it back together and still not the same power on WOT as before. Can some one point me in the right direction please?

It's probably because it's running too rich like many china girls tend to be jetted, but when the head gasket started leaking the mixture started correcting and it started running like a bat outta ****. Now it's not leaking, so the mixture if off again.

That's my guess anyway.

Welcome to the forum, I am a newbie too. I am just now going through my first tank of gas. Im curious it seemed to me you started adjusting your engine before it was broken in..ie two tanks of gas run through. As I understand it the engine performance improves dramatically once this is done, also as your ratio of gas to oil leans a bit from the break in period. Am I mistaken?
As far as performance parts I too would like more power! lol, I have the 66cc grubee skyhawk. I see alot of information about the expansion chamber exhausts but also some kind of bottle on the intake side?
As far as the stock chain tensioner goes Im only a week in and its working fine, however I have been sufficiently cautioned about its perils. I like the spring tensioner ones people have created and it makes perfect sense to me. I am currently figuring one out hopefully before the nylon spool on the stock one gives out. Mine is positioned up near the rim so if it is pulled into the tire it wont contact the spokes.
I had to pull all the unnecessary thin sheet metal off my bike after the front fender collapsed and the heatsheild on the muffler vibrated off. actually broke the weld holding it on.
Its cool you are a machinist. Im a Chef and my skill set didnt help me much. I eat good though.

sorry here are pics of mine so you can see all aspects

one change the bicycle pedal side chain broke on me yesterday on the road but I had the origional bike chain and a chain tool I had just purchased. I was able to get the chain on and under the right tension but I had to move the engine side chain tensioner forward slightly to be inline with the rim. its not a big change but instead of being primarily a tensioner, I feel it is more of a chain guide and prevents the chain whipping from deceleration. everything is working great, provided I remember to turn on the gas! oh yes, and I am on the road.....

I have not taken it that far apart yet. All I have done is move the clip on the neddle up one notch to try to make it run better, the idle ajust screw still has to be all the way in to get it to run but still not as smooth as before

I tried some pre mixed stuff that I found at Pep Boys it is 40:1 with no ethonol in it but I wont do that again I think that is the problem
I run regular gas, and use Red Line synthetic 2 stroke oil @ 50:1

Most regular 2 stroke oil is ok for 40:1.
