hola senorès around the globe! FINALLY got the frame + misc. pieces back from the owen.i went with high gloss black like the reading standard bike but theres going to be a little swedish wordpuzzle over the name for this one."hold on" till the tank is done.the solution to the brakedisc hiding issue was to weld some brackets for a periodstyle numberplate.diff. saddle on the way and the painting of the tank + some pinstriping of the fender and the rims. getting closer there

I'd paint the tank the same color as the tires (carmel) with black pinstripe and whatever the name is ?? towards the front of the tank, every thing else looks good!

thanks truckd, followed that advise partially, since the name and pinstriping is going to be in gold i had to choose a darker brown to make it stand out.its under the paint section, think it going to turn out ok and i can allways die the leather for the saddle to match the tank. since the frame originated from a old Monark ladiesbike i thought i call it the "monark Special" instead of "Reading Standard".and thats that

yup, have had long discussions with myself over the same spaces and have come up with something,in front of the engine theres going to be mounted a kind of triangelshaped leather toolcase that was found on old swedish cycles and rear of the engine theregoing to be either a tillotson or a mikuni on a manifold that bends outwards to the right rear.and the exh. i havnt dissided on yet.next thing thou is the saddlearrangement (plate, springs) and a btr handlebar with all the levers is also next.

It looks great! Did you make that seat or get it somewhere? More information on it please.
thanks! what you see is just the leather so far,im going to make a mould at work of oak so i can form a steelplate to weld the springholders and so on.under the "beak" of the sadel on the frame there is a piece of tubing across to form a hinge with the saddleplate and from where you usually mount the saddlepole theres going to be the springarrangement.but the idea is to make the plate so it follows the lines of the frametube and its all diy.can probobly order a btrsaddle from Holland or something but would cost a bloody fortune. the camera ran out of batteries post a picture tomorrow

That sucker looks NICE! do an oil box!and make sure you don't get pulled over and shot because some diggidy dog cop thinks it's a gun in a holster, if the holster is the one you've chosen ? if so? get ingraved in the leather the word "Tools" somewhere visible on the side but Monark.... build the Faux oil box, you can hide a lot of stuff in there and with the design of the tank it Oooooooowee!!!!

truckd: borrowed a leathercase from a friend and it surely can be misstaken for a holster!! better watch my back when on the road :)
Mr.Sorrels:here you se how i plan on fastening the saddle in the front, been thinking and im prob. going to order some custom leafsprings to go on each side of the rear fender,to keep a low profile on the rear of the saddle but will see about that.

ola compadres!!! ain`t done with this one yet.sorry for the absence guys.winter and snow approaching here in sweden so now its garage time.
didnt happen much over the summer but found a couple of bits and pieces: Handlebars (upside-down beachcruiser mod.) new steem (not vintage but i kinda like the look) and a suitable carb for the briggs (i think).first up is still the saddle arr. and im going to order the intake for the carb next week so thats next.the briggs internals aint balanced either so there are def. stuff to do.
have to browse thru the forum to see what i missed but its kinda nice to be back!

Watch that springer front end. If it is a bicycle front end it will not stand up to MB speeds and stress The bolt through the spring just broke on mine causing a nasty crash and a broken wrist.

Ouch! sorry to hear, best wishes for a fast recovery. Yup! its probobly the same fleabay cruiser fork you had.As i have changed all the fittings to brass with stainless bolts breakage shouldnt be a prob.but the thickness of the goods in the fork itself is another mather, its like thinfoil! since this is the first attempt to build something like this i will be happy if i get it to 30 kmh
