original bike with motor kit slapped on and lowered seat from my 26" colombia beach cruiser, that will be my next project. maybe in burnt orange if i can find that color.

Paint, shift kit, lowered spring seat, painted engine, and some blood, sweat and curse words. I still think it should be a little faster but 30mph is ok i will start to worry after 300 miles are on the clock and i am still only doing 30 mph max. But she looks stunning with the new paint job that took me all day to do. The fenders are metallic copper and the rest of the bike is rustoleum hammered copper that gives it that hammered copper look.

Very cool and I think you should win a prize as you are the first, at least that I have seen that appears to have correctly cut out and installed the right side chain guard. Also just a tip, it appears your chain from the jackshaft to the chainring is a little loose, don't want those chains touching at speed.

Have some patience, some speed will come but you will need to do some engine mods to get much past 35mph. I would start with intake and exhaust manifold gasket and port matching. Then work on tuning your carb. After that...............tuned pipe?

I like that copper colour - it really suits the frame and looks very professionally done...

I concur on the chain - the last thing you want is those to have a wibble at high speed and munch things.

A highline (aka over the top of the motor) tuned pipe would really suit that build and give you more power

but arrgh - I spy an E36 methinks in the background - the bane of the british motored biker - there seems to be something about british drivers and BMW's that make them feared the length and breadth of the country..

ahhhh ... saw the thread and thought you got your stingray ... looks better with the new paint enjoy
no i didnt start the stingray project yet. unexpected bills will delay it a little longer. my next build will be a columbia 26" cruiser that i already have on hand. not sure what color i will do though thinking of a burnt orange like the 350z or corvette, if i can find that color spray paint.

thakn you jemma.

you guys are right it is a little loose, however removing one link makes it TOO tight, is there a thing like a half link that i could purchase (moving the motor is not an option) to take up the slack maybe

as for the right side chain cover i had to fabricate my own, just used a floor matt that's made of high density rubber foam type material, as the piece of plastic that was provided with the kit will NOT flush mount to the clutch cover when you put the little nuts in the back of it (even if you beat it in with a hammer). You guys should consider just providing a piece of high density rubberized foam material (mouse pad type material) to go on to the clutch cover and keep the same plastic piece to use as the chain guard.

yes i am definitely going to get a tuned pipe soon.

that is an e36 you see. I love that car, 16 years old and i preffer to drive it over my 5 year old audi a6. such a fun car to drive that just does what you want it to do, handles very good, never breaks, and is pretty peppy with it's little 2.5 inline six. i will likely sell my audi a6 and get an e46 to replace it, and replace the e36 with a small SUV.

I didn't have a problem inserting the T-nuts on my clutch cover. It won't be perfectly flat but if glued properly it will work.

You can adjust your chain by sliding the motor up along the seat tube. You may have to put a small spacer under your front mount. I would use a scrap piece of the clutch cover material. At least that is what I do.

i didn't even try to glue it when i saw that it would not fit flush i was worried that the pressure from the nuts would eventually loosen the glue and make it come loose. the foam works great silences the motor a bit. when i first installed the kit there was sufficient tension on the chain but it loosened up some after a few runs. i am going to look into getting a half link (i think i read about it here somewere on the forums) as really dont want to touch those motor mounts again, these things are fragile and the more you loosen and tighten the more likely it is to break (i am talking about the front motor mount those holes for the studs are a little to thin walled for my taste). If there is no such thing as a half link i guess i will have to take my chances and move the motor.
