Next-avalon friction drive 31cc

Gearnut
have to see what happens as these get some miles on them not sure if we can even make em run richer as its just a weedeater motor

This engine is a clone of a Honda GX31. They were used in many different types of equipment. Even small tillers. Google the GX31 for tech info the, 33cc is an OHC I believe.

cannonball
see post 19 already done and did that right after I got the kit on my doorstep

Correct I read that. I was under the impression those were the specs for the Honda 33cc, which is entirely different than the GX31. I was suggesting a search for the 31cc. The 31 is a push rod engine while the 33 is OHC Im thinking. Specs may be the same/similar, just a thought.

these motors are pushrod
the old method of adjusting the valves works
wiggle pushrod till snug and 1/4 turn more

Yes they are, Its a GX31 clone. They are great little engines. The 33cc engine replaced the 31 and is a totally different design. Havent had any hands on with that one, but the little 31 is generally bullet proof.
