I have a max torque with 10T. I have a jack shaft with 10T on both ends and a 44T rear sprocket with 26" rims that I am building with a 99 cc predator. Do you think this will work? I primarily ride on level ground and weigh 165lbs.Will I have trouble starting off and what speed will I achieve.

You had better be able to replace at least one of the 3 ten tooth sprockets unless you think 87.9mph at 5,000rpm is do-able. That combo would give you a 4.40:1 gear ratio.....that is way to tall for that motor no matter what. You need to shoot for somewhere between 10:1 and 13:1 realistically.

What would be a good # on the jackshaft to give me that ratio?

Hi rotary guy,I have been playing around with gearing on a 99cc predator/Schwinn 26"....I think You will be happy with a single gear change on Yours,a 25 tooth on the driven side of the J/S and keep Your 10 on the drive side of the J/S then to the rear 44...so You end up with a 11 to 1.... You can go to a 30 driven, that will give You a 13.2 to 1 ....Tigmaster....edit..There is no reduction in gearing with a 10 to 10 J/S 10
