Hi, I have a bike with a 66cc engine. It worked fine when I broke it in, just low on power (as they all are). After the first four tanks (16:1) I had my friend/mechanic do engine modifications. He ported everything and put a larger outlet on the muffler. Bike runs much faster and better except it has trouble transitioning from idle to throttle. I stop the bike, it idles, but when I pedal and hit the throttle it makes a small bog and takes like 5 seconds to really get going. When it is in idle and I push the throttle a bit it just bogs and dies. When my friend ported it, he put the pin on the carb needle from the second to third position, making it richer. I decided to take it apart and move it back to the second position, but it did not make a difference! Any solutions to this problem would be much appreciated!

No, that's not true. The stock carburetor is capable of delivering enough fuel. Porting doesn't change that.
What fuel/oil mix are you running? (16:1 is way too much oil)
What's your plug gap?
How fast are you twisting the throttle? Unless everything is right on the money, such as air to fuel ratio, correct plug and the plug gapped correctly( .024 to .028), clean air filter, etc. The throttle response might not be as crisp as you'd like it. Is the bogging you're experiencing when riding or setting still with the clutch disengaged?
Don't rely on the kit supplied spark plug to deliver optimum performance also the spark plug boot that comes with the kits are questionable.
Drop your fuel/oil ratio down to 32:1 and use a fresh batch of fuel.
Get back to us if none of these suggestions work for you.

2door is right.. 16:1 is too rich.. When riding.. Move your choke to different positions and see what effect it has on bogging or transition. Get back to us. Enjoy the ride..
we switched the plug to not a new plug but one which worked on another bike. that did nothing. we changed carbs like 3 times but the bogg was still there. we put another carb on, and it does run much better, but it still does not accelerate well (which it should because it is ported and now has a new, better exhaust), and it tops out at only 28 mph. I am not using 16:1 I am using 24:1. I really have no clue what is going on. BIG ACCELERATION PROBLEM
The first thing I would try is to open up the gas shut-off valve inside diameter. Sounds to me like it's starving for fuel now that it needs more fuel flow(after porting ect)
The diameter of the gas shut off valve. I am guessing he is talking about the fuel valve coming from the tank. You can take it off and flip the switch and look at what happens inside. You will see what he's talking about.
What I would do if I were you I would get the fuel valve from SBP. They have a fantastic one. I replaced mine, and the flow is much better. Great $10 investment
