Head bolt size?

Hey there,

I've got the GruBee 48cc GT 2. Angle-fire head. Built in 2010.

What size are my head studs?

M6 1.0

M8 1.0

M8 1.25????

I know I could pull one, and go check, but thought I'd ask before ordering from SBP.

Most likely it is a 6mm, but I've run into all or those sizes. The one that blew my mind was the 8mm X 1.0. It was hard to find the material to make the studs, with the 6mm X 1.0 and the 8mm X 1.25 being the most common.

Oops, just saw this, so you're saying probably a 6mm x 1.0.

If I go 8mm, will they self tap, or not a good idea/not necessary?

Going to a 8mm serves no purpose, they will NOT self tap. Like I said in our conservation, go with Metric 8.8 studs followed by lock nuts.
