I just had my second flat. Not from a nail or some other puncture but from the tire slipping on the rim which results in the valve stem being ripped . I keep the tire [Armadillo and bontranger thorn tube] properly inflated but after awhile i notice the valve stem slowly moving/slanting prompting me to stop and let the air out and pull the tire till the valve stim is sticking out straight then inflating to recommended psi . Never had this problem on a regular bicycle. This problem is even worse now that my bike has a shift kit. Any thoughts---suggestions on how to keep the tire from slipping
Thanx

I had this same problem. Never encountered it until I got a shift kit, as well. My tires were also technically larger than the 2.125 tubes that were in them. The way I solved it was to use a larger tube. My tires are 2.2 and the tubes in them now are 2.35, inflated to 75psi. My rear tire also has a 2nd tire inside. No problems since.

I had that happen with thorn proof tubes on one bike with 26" wheels. The thicker rubber didn't seem to 'blossom' inside the tire like thinner tubes and hold the tire despite high psi. I didn't want to forgo the protective no flat aspect so I ended up going with just a thin swipe of craft bond around both beads of the tire where it meets the rim and it stopped the slippage.

I had a Bontrager tire and tube on the rear and had the same problem, pulled the stem off. I used a tube from the lbs, don't know the brand, and had 2000 trouble free miles.
