I did a lot of pedal assist and Dallas is pretty flat but there are a few hills. I also used the regenerative braking as often as possible. I'm sure the thing woulda worked well had I had the added pull of a friction drive and know what I know now about overheating the motor. I just talked to a third gentleman that had the same experience his fried on him in short order. Ebike hub motors IMO are just not made for any distance or climbing hills. Not for a hefty guy like me.

I had a small 250w 24v hub motor on the front of my bike and it ran for about 10 miles no peddling on 36v 12ah SLAs on my bike that's a total of 300lbs me and me bike and has been going strong for over 4000 miles.

This build in addition to the below list also now has a friction drive on the way from statoninc just over $200 shipped. None of the gear drive sprocket or mounting plate work with this engine...well not unless you want to try to reinvent the wheel LOL. I looked everywhere on Dax site before I made my list the 4 stroke instructions don't say anything plus or minus about the 32cc. I ordered what the 4 stroke kit looked like it used. I am going to take Duane's advice and enjoy my ride and forget the $50 bucks plus in useless parts. zpt

Well this bike is gonna have $700 in it by the time I get done with it but should pay for itself quickly...bus fare is $4 a day and takes forever! Some of the parts are for an old HT 2 smoker kit I still have and I wanted to play with different tooth sprockets to see which I like the best...I figured if I go with the 36 and use the electric for low end speed the thing is gonna go pretty fast once I kick the gas in and get great mpg too.
