Did not say wobble, ever. Said flex (it's actually deflection and it's common engineering consideration in gear systems). And it shows on your clutch gear (not my 1st rodeo). Would not necessarilly show on your rub mark cause it's probably not wobbling i.e. constant pressure. Also remove your clutch and grab it w/ your hand it will flex. Don't get me wrong I'm flabbergasted that you've obtained >400 mi. and I hope you get 4000! Post some pics next time you open it up!

That's funny! But it's still a Hoot World Record and I'm rooting for my dog linnix13!

BTW L13, does that box have a JL on the front or is it a generic hoot?

Oh no... is it thursday again already???? :)
lol! actually i change my oil every TWO weeks! and its 250ml to fill it up, my 2 stroke went through a liter a week, so its actually less oil for my 4 stroke, and it doesn't burn it either! so i like my 4 stroke!

Even more amazing that your getting the mileage out of it that you are. The JL Hoot is the one Grubee sells or sold don't know if they still do. I don't know what it stands for.

Hi Bikeguy Joe,

I don't know how thier bike worked out, but we get calls almost every day about replacing the Hoot boxes with our new drive. The majority of the calls are about the gear versions, however we are starting to get a lot more calls about the chain primary versions.

I thought the double chain had a better chance of working longer, but we still hear about major chain stretch and the chain hitting the case inside.

Many have told us the single row chain version stretches and then rips the teeth off the front pulley.

Owners of the latest double chain version have reported, chain hitting case, badly worn front sprocket, and several have told us something about the rear sprocket assembly binding up. I think there might be some kind of "freewheel" assembly the sprocket is attached to that is not working correctly.

We are currently working on a special adapter to fit the short tapered shaft on the motor.

We are also hearing the ratios are off and the motor is turning very high RPMs with minimum top end.

I think a few have managed to keep them working, but from all that I have read they had to do a lot of maintenance to get good results.

Have fun,

yeah i think thats key. i did allot of maintenance to mice. like weekly grease changing and shimming it.it was the geared kind and it never wore out. the teeth wore a little bit in the beginning but then they settled down nicely
