FYI Cadillac Fleetwood with NuVinci Hub $400 online

I thought I would pass this on. I spotted the Cadillac Fleetwood with NuVinci hub and installed disk brake on sale for $400 shipped and it includes a free bike helmet. If you have been looking for a hub the cost of the bike as a whole is less than the hub and brake by themselves.

You can order from the Cadillac Bikes site.

I suspected people might be interested. When I saw the price I read the page a few times thinking I had missed something.

I just have to convince myself not to order a second one.

I just called, this is the real deal. Ordered mine, can't wait to tear it apart. I've been looking for the Nuvinci hub(black with disc brake mounts) for under $400(shipped) for over a month now. What a find!

I couldn't help but notice that the sticker under the seat says "Fleewood" not Fleetwood.
Where are these bikes made?

Just got my Cadillac Fleetwood NuVinci bike. WOW that is fast shipping and the bike was well packed into shipping box...not a scratch on the bicycle. This is one **** of a deal.

I'd like to see some build pictures. are you going to put a shift kit on it? is the top tube large enough to be a tank?

My bicycle shipped out of Moline, Il. by private carrier in a Hertz moving truck.
The top tube looks about able enough to hold a quart of fuel or a little over. I have
had an SBP shift kit on the shelf for about a year now and it would be perfect on this bicycle.

Are these good quality bikes? Or is everyone jumping at it just for the NuVinci Hub and disc brake setup
I would like to get one if they are good bikes. I would have to ride it a while without motor until I could get the motor and shift kit.

the bike is kind of average and a little weird looking, not bad though, it's a look you could get used to. but your getting the whole bike with disk brake for about $30 less than just the hub cost. killer deal in my book. i'm probably just going to rob the hub and brake and use the bike for parts.

It is a good deal all the way around. I don't mind the looks as they remind me of some of the Nirve frames. The seat is not pretty but comfortable. The spokes are stainless and the hub is going to be driving the bike so it doesn't need 12 gauge spokes. The tires are decent. The fenders are nice little bobbed fenders and you can throw a Nirve brake on the front fork. If you factor in the free shipping you are basically getting the bike and shipping for free. You could swap out the rear wheel and hub from another bike and sell the beast for $100 on Craigslist.

Oh, it rides pretty well stock.

I don't know if anyone else caught it but the girl's version is also on sale.

can anyone who bought this bike measure the distance from rear dropout to dropout??

i may just end up picking one of these up..the first time i saw this price i was amazed. my buddy ordered a bike from there that looks almost the same for 150 shipped, so i guess it's just a partner with Fallbrook to produce a low cost bike.

The Cadillac Fleetwood bike frame on the rear dropouts appear to be made for
the NuVinci without having to spread the frame to install...135mm

I got a chance yesterday to take the bike out for some riding to see how it handles
and shift before I put an engine on it. I was very impressed with this bicycle. Reminds
you of all the riding qualitys of an old schwinn 10 speed with skinny tires. Except the cadiilac
is built for comfort with big baloon tires...amazing to me. I am 6 foot tall and do not have to lean
bicycle over to mount and I sit comfortable with my feet squarely touching the ground at a
stand still when bicycle is not moving. This is the only bike out of 7 of them that I can do this.

Wow, that's an insanely low price $399 for the bike and you get a free Nuvinci Hub.
We get mercylessly ripped off in Australia, and it's the same for just about any other product - whatever it retails for in America, you can just about bet on it, that it sells for 3 times the price over here.

In Australia, a Nuvinci hub on it's own costs $1000, and the people selling them say they are making a loss and should be selling the hubs for $1200.
