Writing a business plan and got to wondering what the reason folks had for ridding a motorized bicycle.

Mine is I am just hooked on them and enjoy that there is always some thing new to learn or try. Not to mention some of the truly insane folks I have had the good fortune to meet and hang out with.

Re: Why do you ride a MB?

i lost my driver license awhile back. i'll be getting it back soon but theres no doubt that (weather permitting), i'll keep riding my MBs to/from work, as opposed to beating up my truck. the $25 a week i save on gas goes other places.
whats this 'business plan' all about?

Re: Why do you ride a MB?

I voted other because all the above fits me. There is no one reason. I love to tinker and build things. I love riding bikes on long rides and it is easier with a motor. I also like the fuel milage and no paperwork and insurance. I just like all things about motor bikes.

Re: Why do you ride a MB?

I haven't driven for approx 20 years due to visual impairment :( (only 1 eye that's not to good)
I live with my daughter and her family as a live-in babysitter :)
I used to pedal my oldest grandkid in her trailer but the hills were to much for my knees
saw an ad for an engine on the local C/L, did some research online,,,
and here I am, 3+ yrs, and lots of experience later
and I am STILL pulling the trailer with 2 growing pasengers (^)

Re: Why do you ride a MB?

I built my first go cart when I was 10(lawn mower engine and wheels).
Now I am 65, good life, good family, good health and good hobby.
The only problem is, my wife say's I have a sickness "I love to be in my basement work shop".
She would rather have me watching TV(boring).

Re: Why do you ride a MB?

After retiring as a machinist for about 40 years I was looking for a hobby that I could work on in my small (10 X 20) shop. Classic cars was out so I got to thinking about the old Whizzers. Thats when I found the engine kits and all the information I needed to get started.
What a great inexpensive hobby. Now 12 bikes later, I am having a blast building and riding them. To bad I can't seem to get that many people in my area interested in them.
I have way more bikes than I need, but can't stop building them. I am hooked!

Re: Why do you ride a MB?

These MBs are just way too much fun!!
We ride them down to the beach & hang out all day. They are always a great topic of conversation with everyone that walks by!

Re: Why do you ride a MB?

I also picked other. I have the firm belief that any family should have at least one more vehicle than they do drivers to cover the times when one of the vehicles is in the shop. This gives me the extra form of transportation without adding all the expense of insurance, licensing, etc. I have also become somewhat hooked as a hobbyist. However most times when I brave the rush hour traffic to use my bike to commute I am just out to save gas and money by using my ride as a form of economy transportation. So a combination of most of your options!

Re: Why do you ride a MB?

Wow, wish I had opened more options. Should have known there was no cookie-cutter answer to that question. Thanks all. Really interesting

Howdy Happy. Tyerslider and I are working on a kit. At a meeting with some advisers, they suggested writing one.

Fin, big time! Last year we, went from 1 truck, 3 cars and 2 MBs to one working car in a month! Was a night mare getting every one where they needed to be.

About cried when my "back-up" MB went south. Just a run to the store for milk or bread becomes an ordeal. From now on, I will have a contingency MB. A back-up MB and a main MB. (LOL, "MMB") I should probably get a better car but summer is coming.......
