Silverbear is alive and well, living in Minnesota. Just got the internet up or I would have checked in sooner. No misshaps on the road and that Cherokee is a great cruiser. I drove pretty much straight on with about four hours of catnap rests to get me home. It rained non stop through all of Michigan, sometimes torrential and I had to watch the road surface to avoid hydroplaning. Much fog in the wee hours of the night. Weather cleared once we made it to Duluth and was sunny when I pulled into the lake place at Eagles Nest yesterday around 2:30 P.M.. A fox was sitting there in front of my trailer when I pulled in, so I took that as the welcoming committee. Oddly enough my brother and his wife arrived 5 minutes later from Iowa. We had not coordinated anything, even day of arrival, so that was weird. Can't tell you how good it is to be home.
I want to thank Camlifter for his hospitality and for the beautiful bike! Let me know when the the bike meet will be in September and maybe I can coordinate things to be there. I'll try for sure. Yeah, we got rained out, but some of us did get to fly around the track some and now I can say I'm an old dirt track racer. I was the one you kept lapping while warming your motor up. I was racing, even if you weren't. And I'm old, so therefore I'm an old dirt track racer now. Nice to meet Kyle and I appreciate his help loading the bike onto the Cherokee. Thud is right about your beautiful builds. Some wonderful stuff you' guys are doing. And Thud, my friend, I know you were frustrated with some electrical problems, but I can see that your builds show a lot of ingenuity and look forward to seeing more about them on the forum. Very cool shifting setup and am impressed with that Lexan drive sprocket. I'm hoping to ride one the next time we meet. I forget your buddies' names if I ever knew them, but they're cool guys and I hope to hear from them on the forum. They'll be bringing their bikes next year.
You have to start somewhere and although we got rained out I think it was still a success in that we all met each other, we got to look at each others bikes and share ideas. Next year will be bigger and it will keep building. Hey to Mitch, track owner and good guy! Moosh says Hi and I'm wagging my tail.
