So I know that many states have legislation that permits under 50cc but that sales of 66/70/80cc engines are still healthy. It seems rather common with the larger displacement that any factory identification stickers seem to "fall off" rather quickly. Perhaps it is the heat
.
I have heard about people being stopped by the local authorities and simply stating that the engine size is <50cc. Cops often ask if there is a decal, proof etc. Since my id tags fell off already, I decided to make a replacement. The plate is a simple dog tag from a pet store. While I don't promote fraudulent behavior, you can engrave the tag with whatever info you want. A thin coat of spray paint and a couple of rivets though the clutch actuator cover and it was done. Its not perfect but it does fit in with the theme of Chinese quality.
Here's the tag I made and an original tag from my "other" engine:
It's amazing that both of my engines were made on the same day.
