The habaneros spitting out of my tailpipe while jumping the finish line that you're watching from behind while wheelie begins on a paper-thin flathead, warped on nitrous Brigg's burrito warmed up for dinner with flan for dessert.....scenario ;)

I get the picture!

I definately won't miss out on this race! I will bring my Briggs bike!
Fantastic, if there are enough 4 strokes like you entering I will make another
class between the small 4 Stroke Class and the Gas Bike < 11hp Class which
will make the racing more even and fun.

To have more classes there needs to be more entries.

There were about 45 Chinese bicycle engine 2 strokes at Willow Springs
and I can see another 30 to 50 more entering this time which is going to
be a problem with scheduling and track time due to winter daylight hours.
I think I am going to have to do something to thin the small 2 stroke field
out.

Anyone have any thoughts on this?
In the future I can even see the race turning into a 2 day event just like how
the Motorcycle clubs do it at Willow Springs.

Practice and heats on Saturday and race finals on Sunday.

Chinese bicycle engine 2 strokes are the largest % of the hobby----stock 66cc and 49cc modified class---66cc modified class
run them 30 bikes deep get lapped and you're off the track for that race last 3 bikes per-lap off the track for that race

Ebiker here, I'm getting ready for this next race guys, I had a ton of fun at the Willow Springs race, and it was great fun mixing it up with all you stink bikers. LOL I'm just kidding, I really liked all your bikes, besides I'm the one with the quad and the dirtbikes on the trailer so you know I like my gas toys too. I will be bringing the same bike, with a slightly larger motor which should put me right on par with the Boxxers. I found out what the fail was during the main race.... my motor ingested a foreign object ( probably thrown in there off a Morini ;)) and promptly quit. I'll have a guard on this one for debri, you could compare the damage in my electric motor to having to rebuild a gas bike from the crank on up. That's racing though.

Despite what Neil says, Willow Springs was a HP contest, the track was easy to learn and not very twisty. Grange seems a helluva lot more fun and rider skill will be a larger factor than power methinks.

How much of an extra charge are transponders? That might make it worth it to not have to deal with the scoring, although scoring is where it's at! I had more fun scoring than racing so I'll be there even if my bike is broke!

Cool how many bikes is needed total to make the 5hp 4 stroke class?
EDIT: After some more thought if the eBikes get a class with only 10 bikes
then the same goes for you Briggs guys. You have 3 now so 7 more....
There was a Honda GS190 #61 racing at Willow Springs too, Vertical motor
with overhead cam 5.5 hp

I don't know as it's too early to say for sure, but more than we have
entered right now even including you.

You may be sharing a mid class between the < 11 hp and the small
4 Stroke Class which will be primarily based on the 50 cc
Honda / Huashengs etc and smaller bikes.
Could be all kinds of bikes included in a Mid hp Class this race both
2 and 4 stroke but you will be more evenly matched than before.

I just love all you guys with your special interests....lol I have to
balance it out for everyone and don't forget it's mainly about the fun!

buba here
just some thoughts and questions?????

though i will not be stateside in october and had so much fun at willow
all weekend camping/ riding/ with family /and new friends

thanks so much neil you did a great even if self inflicted job

is this all headed to regularly scheduled great fun and comraderie with such a broad variety of crafted bikes with race events that make up a weekend event/happening located at a condusive for riding in a safe and scenic area to explore en masse ie. willow service road

or

is this to be a dozen go getters all in differrent classes thus two or three individuals per class that want to go fast for a one day event

i would opt for the former at this time

Hey Neil,

What's an 'A & B' timing strip? Shown in Grange track photo. If the track has electronic scoring, individual transponders might be affordable (passive $25, active $275)

Vid's of each heat/race finish might provide a post record. Yet I think we scoring volunteers worked hard (an had fun) improved methods evolved, but we can be even smarter next Oct! We just needed niffy forms to track the races on so we could've posted immediately after each heat/race. Believe just 2 volunteers could pull it off. Posting results was our downfall No problem to change that.

Maybe score the 1st/2nd lap to get to know the racers' numbers, then just notice 1/2/3rd place each lap, make an 'X' for those getting lapped; then record the white and checkered flag finish. Have the forms laid out for this and pin finish order on a board right afterwards.

Yeah, full size clip boards and extra pens good idea. The forms at Willow Springs looked pretty good and could be adapted or new ones created easily.

I'll call before Oct 22. No hurry now. Jazzed to see MB racing sport growing.

Shhh. . . . everybody sneak out for early practice but don't tell Scotto where the track is!

Grange Race Track Southern California race track for Kart and Supermoto Racing

If looking at Google Earth, the easiest way to find it is to locate the "High Desert Juvinal Dentention Center" some 20miles southwest of Barstow and 8-10miles northeast of Victorville & north of AppleValley. Grange track is about 4-5miles to the east of Hwy15. From Barstow, one could take the BellMountain exit that takes you by the Juvi Jail then turn left/east onto Quarry Rd. If driving up Hwy15 from the south, take the Quarry Rd exit, turn right/east, go for 4 miles and look for the track 'bout a half mile off to your left/north.

The last 0.5 mile looks to be dirt road. Not quite out in NoWhere, but a couple of miles in some direction from NoWhere.

yeah, lots of bottle caps off some kind of tasty dark beer.........

It's 102 days to go to race day, my bro.
Mark off the days backwards on a calender and you will find the date
if you haven't popped too many caps......

I was planning on starting the official thread when it gets down to
double digits like 99 or something like that with all the relevant info.

Willow Springs race only had a 60 day count down.

You can go practice at the track for a $30 fee per rider when the
track isn't booked for an event.
Going with the race organizer has certain advantages.........lol

Strotter, do you want to go on the weekend or a weekday?
Give me a call.

Be warned that Google maps and GPS's route you the wrong way
from the freeway turn off. we are trying to get that fixed with Google
maps and i will post up an accurate route.

Just go to Google Earth, use your eye's and memorize it (or write it down).
