ACMELabs has a tank in the works for me that will fit the stock Worksman frame. I'll post pictures when it is installed. I'm not positve but they may consider making a few of them.

Could someone fill me in on what is going on now with the Worksman effort. I know that Crazy horse has had to step back due to family medical issues,....I have read through the entire thread yesterday.....cant tell what is currently going on. If this is something best discussed outside the forum, Feel free to PM me.

"ACME Labs" Cracks me up. Ya know folks with that kind of humor are gonna come up with great and imaginative stuff.

Looking forward to your pics Red!

Seems every year, folks are coming up with ever more cleaver and cool stuff for our crazy. Joe's workman board tracker, ACME, EZM, Creative engineering, firebelly, SBPs and of course Dax and so many others. Boggles the mind, all the options and avenues we have.

Folks like Joe (and those and others not mentioned above) do us all a great service. Or just get me all excited and spending copious amounts of money on this addiction.

Still beats golf, lol

Salute!

I have a Grubee Skyhawk 50cc engine that I want to drop into a Worksman Newsboy. Does anyone know who makes smaller 1" diemeter engine mounts to fit the skinny 1" downtube & seattube on the Worksman?

Just a heads up as far as Worksman making the Newsboy with a vintage style drop looped down tube for us Board Track Racer enthusiast's it is still possible. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Peace Crazy Horse!

Here's fellow forum member SeattleRiders Worksman Board Track Racer with the Vintage Harley Style Gas Tank built by Rick Gilmore of Seattle, Wa.
Maybe we can get Sportscarpat to make this style tank for those of us who prefer a Vintage Style Harley Tank!

SeattleRiders Worksman Vintage Styled Harley Board Track Racer was initially built for a faux v-twin like the Worksman Cyclone pictured below.
SeattleRider is currently working on adding a 2-stroke motor last I heard.

All of these builds have had the top two horizontal tubes extended by 4-inches, which then allows room for the drop looped down tube, for a much more vintage style look for the Worksman Newsboy!

Are their any forum members still interested in acquiring a Worksman 4-inch stretched frame drop looped down tube vintage styled Board Track Racer with either a Harley or Indian vintage style gas tank?

These bikes are beautiful with that vintage look of yesteryear!

CH,
I would buy one today. I would love to order a worksman frame and drop ship it to someone with the skills to modify it. Then they can send to me after they mod it with the drop tube. I can do the finish work.

re: Worksman Board Track Racer Tribute Drop Loop Frames Wanted

deck99,

Here's a thought maybe Sportscarpat could make some tanks for the 4" stretched drop looped downtube Worksman Newsboys Board Track Racer's, instead of the current fiberglass one's pictured above and below here.

Well I really am excited to see that someone has finally gotten the ball rolling with supplying those interested in Worksman Newsboy's for a Board Track Racer style build, less the drop looped downtube's.

Maybe they might even offer them with drop looped down tubes, for that real vintage style look.

Here's the pic's again of the 4" stretched drop looped downtube Board track racer styled Worksman Newsboy's frames with the two different style fiberglass gas tanks, one is the Harley semi rectanglular and the other is the Indian torpedo/cylinder style gas tanks.

Who make those two frames?

Does someone actually sell these frames?

re: Worksman Board Track Racer Tribute Drop Loop Frames Wanted

Hi guys and thanks for the mention. It would be easy to stretch one of my current Worksman INB's tanks and had planned to do it, but then realized there is a slight problem with that idea. The top and middle tubes on the Worksman frame are not parallel. If you cut the frame to stretch it 4" then the middle tube sections will not realign. If can be done but will require a new middle tube in the frame as well. So can I do it? Yes. Will I do it? Maybe. I hate to say it, but this is more of a look than a function thing with the loop bottom tube, so right now it's low on my priority list. Maybe in a few months I will take a stab at it. In the mean time just get a standard Worksman frame, cut all the stupid chain guard tabs off of it, throw on one of my tanks and hit the streets with a big smile on your face!

Which motor? That's a loaded question around here. The Worksman INB frame has 1" tubes like the old cruisers. Some of the engines out there have gone to larger mounting openings to accomodate more modern frame tube sizes. These have to be adapted down in size which is just extra work. The Grubees (from my experience) have 1" mounts and that works best on a 1" frame. This particular frame and tank combo is getting an 80cc (big block) Grubee GT5 slant head engine. The mounting will be simple and solid. Beyond that? Maybe an 8 hp water cooled 39cc two stroke, with laser cut stainless steel chin fairing around the radiator, and laser cut engine mount brackets tig welded directly to the frame. This would be a fully developed frame kit to the carry the 8 hp engine and the engine would simply bolt in. Clip-on handle bars with upper and lower triple clamp suspension forks would be extra.

re: Worksman Board Track Racer Tribute Drop Loop Frames Wanted

Just an update I have been talking with another builder to possible take this challenge, to offer the Worksman modified period correct drop Loop frame for Tribute Board Track Racer & Tribute Road Bike style builds. Using the Worksman M2600 Industrial Cruiser & Worksman News Boy Cruiser.

I will not give up this challenge to see these Tribute drop Loop frames being available to those who'd like a 1910 thru 1920's period correct drop Loop frame, for those still interested.

Crazy Horse.

awesome CH, TY
One of the Builders who currently offers these modified Worksman Tribute Road Style & Board Track Racer's is expensive but I think the end result for those who can't weld is quite rewarding.

My goal in this is to have a Builder or Builders offer these style builds finished or unfinished, for those who can't weld and at a fair and reasonable price.

So if you are a Builder share your thoughts will you offer these style Worksman Tribute Builds and if so what would you builds cost a buyer!

If you are a potential buyer share your thoughts would you like to purchase one of these Worksman Tribute Builds and what would you guess a fair price to be?

I expect that these Worksman Tribute Builds will become a Reality for some of us even if we have to pay big bucks.

Peace Crazy Horse.

Worksman was on Good Morning America this morning for showing how bad the economy is. I want one of there custom frames, springer fork etc. but just cant figure out how to do or get built a tank. Have an engine and white balloon tires waiting
It seems you could just use the newspaper frame stock, put a seatpost that slopes back and it would look very much like a derringer. If someone could just put a tank between those top tubes it could be better than a derringer ( those moped tanks are weird) I think I'm going this route but I dont know anyone here that could build a tank. ( very very small town I'm in )
I realize that metal is both "cooler" and "correct..." but... any idiot can carve some foam to shape for a mold, and make a fiberglass tank. Just a thought. :)

Domit,,,
calling someone an idiot is not a good first impression !!! (your 1st post)
people here are usually more tolerant than that
perhaps an apology should be in order ???
