Will this spark plug wire work?

will this work? I got some solder and soldered a new plug cap from the store and replaced the wire that was in there with this solid copper speaker wire. Should it work? or will it blow up my magneto or something?

any old auto wire will work. I get mine from the pull-a-part, but they can also be found for free at most autozone stores in the garbage out front. :)

It might work as long as the insulation can take the voltage supplied by the CDI. You might encounter arcing to any metal surface if it can't with the result being loss of performance.

High voltage leads (spark plug wire) has very thick insulation surrounding the conductor for that reason. To contain the high voltage current. Too thin and the current will look for the path of least resistance and 'jump' to it rather than the gap at the spark plug.
