why I love friction drive

I watched Ebay for 2 years,but finally lucked into a tanaka 40cc,
new in the box, $160. I been thru a lotta engines, it's the best yet.

Yeah, the 40cc is loud, but nothing I can't live with. Once you get moving
it less noticable. For power and acceleration, It's puts a 4 stroke Hua Sheng
to shame & it's much lighter. With the Hua Sheng I was constantly having to
tweak the dam thing. The Tanaka is totally reliable.

Two stroke tanaka's are awesome motors. Light and powerful. 4 strokes are heavy and way more complex.

I have a dolmar chain saw with a 50cc 3.9hp 2 stroke that I would love to put on a friction drive unit. That thing would rock! But I love my chainsaw and could never take it apart. If I could find a used one cheap I would do it! It redlines at 14,500 rpm.

At 14,500 rpm it would most likely chew through your tire
like as chainsaw. That's about 40 mph with the smallest
roller Staton makes. Hmmm? 60 mph friction drive....
nah, too scary.
