who would be interested in a VIN# plate?

Greetings
with all this talk about vin numbers I've decided to see who might be interested.
I have a router engraver that I can make plastic and aluminum tags with
was thinking about a 3/8 x 2 or 3 inch saying VIN#???????????????????????
on anodized aluminum with holes to pop rivet to bike
below is an example of my engraving and I can go up to 12" x 12"

Thanks for moving however I'm not actually selling any yet. I was
just curios if there would be any interest. and if it would be worth my time?
 
I'm interested I think that's a brilliant idea . aluminum would be fine. 3/8" inch by 2 to 3 long inches yeah it'll fit already got my VIN number my head send me a PM let's talk . I want two of same on the frame & on clutch cover.

What brand of computer engraver do you have? I used to do a lot of engraving on a New Hermes. Somewhere I have a few new bits, I believe for aluminum.

It's a vision computerized engraver using signlab 5 CAD software,
the manual machine is a new hermes don't use it to often since you can't do graphics with it

Bicycles don't get VIN numbers so I doubt if you will fool any cops.

Also it is probably a crime to put fake VIN #'s on anything,
misdemeanor? felony?

There is a process to get a real legal VIN # in most States.

If you run into a cop that doesn't have a sense of humor your fake
VIN could really bite you in the butt big time.

Bicycles have serial #'s and that is good enough for registering a
motorized bicycle in California.

Who's talking about fooling anyone, you want it registered get the state
to issue a vin # I engrave it on a plate you mount it. why do you ASSume
illegality? and there is certainly nothing illegal about a serial number!

Even though the river tells no lies, the dishonest man standing on the shore
still hears them!!

Why are you ASSuming that I am only talking to you? laff

Serial # would be great if you have a motor without one.

You are the one that mentioned VIN #'s which are not that easy
to get in most States and wouldn't be worth the time and expense
to most builders even if it was possible.

This is an open forum read by a lot of people and I don't want any
of our motored biking friends to get their ass in any legal problems........

Get the idea, and I have no idea how they handle it in cali
but here we fill out the paperwork assign our own vin number
and register it, real simple
as far as I'm concerned you couldn't pay me enough to live in cali or florida
or any states that restricts our people that much.

I'm not in your state LOL, and just what are you riding around on a 49cc (legal)
or a 66cc (not legal)
It's up to you to know your state laws, not me.
and what do they say (ignorance of the law is no excuse)

it's up to each and every one of us to know OUR state laws!

Yes, I know AZ state laws

Briefly from memory the main points are,

48 cc or less
can't go over 19.999 mph
no drivers license required
no helmet required
no registration fees

California says nothing about 49 cc or 66 cc
just says 2 gross hp or less and we can go 30 mph
and nobody cares about that here anyway.

Frankly AZ 20 mph law would drive me nuts
The 30 mph CA speed limit isn't even enforced.

CA has great motorized bicycle laws.

Neither is arizona's I often do 22-25 right by cops
never a word said!
I guess it's just how responsible you are acting
running red lights etc.
Now it's a beautiful day and going to be a nicer night, time for a ride

Supposed specs
The Flying Horse 66/80cc bike engine kit is about 8.5" height 7" length 5" width. The bike engine kit fits on standard, male frames with tubing of 25mm to 29mm in diameter. Larger frame sizes require drilling into bike frame with a stationary bolt and use the universal face plate to mount the front of the engine.

Power: 5-6 HP (horse power) stock

Top Speed: 35-38 MPH (miles per hour) stock

Fuel Economy: 100-150 miles per gallon
