Which wheels to use

I'm trying to make a replica of an early Harley Davidson in a form of a motorized bike, something like 1930's... 26" wheels seem to be way too big, I can use 20" bmx wheels or maybe get some moped wheels... Any ideas?

whichever size you decided on make sure you use a double walled rim. i would think 26" would be a good size. i know someone here had a replica of a harley motorized bicycle and maybe they could let you know the size

Utility comes before cosmetics. A 26" wheel can negotiate irregular roads better than a 20". A 20" fits in someone's trunk better, if you ever need to do that.

If you go with moped wheels it opens your world to a pretty large selection of tires the best selection being 18 inch which would give you a wheel height of aprx 22 inches depending on tire size, really depends on what forks and frame you use, that determines how wide tire you can use. I'm building a set of 19 inch moped wheels. Moped rims are HEAVY
