Behind the magneto & small engine gear, there are the engine seals. If one blows, a vacuum leak occurs.

But there are also seals behind the chain gear and the clutch assembly. Would a loose one also cause a vacuum leak, or is it isolated somehow?

If the split case gasket is good ,the clutch shaft is isolated ,and also it uses heavy grease not fuel mix for lube.,,The main engine case matches the rotating crankshaft very closly (no extra space like a 4 cycle) so that the fuel/air mix will be moved by the suction of the piston moving up and down,,,

Im think there isolated im waiting for that seal and whilst diagnosing I was riding arround with the clutch cover off.

They are isolated,You may be able to just press the crank shaft seal back in if it is not damaged
