what's the blue thingy for?

sbp pipe here today. rough fit of parts complete.
what is this blue ring for?

feels like hardened silicone or rubber, the inner ring fits the copper pipes, the outer diameter doesnt fit into anything. I'm wondering the same thing, it doesnt mention it on the site either. also the tubing that comes with it is incredibly tight. I didnt get enough copper piping to route my pipe in any usable way, which sucked for me.
 
I ended up using it to absorb vibration on the hanger, like a big silicone washer. I don't know what it's for but I have made use of it. I went with the "upswept" mount referred to as a "ball cooker" by others. soon I'll fab up a heat shield so I don't sterilize myself.

That's what I was thinking it must be for, but I couldn't see it well enough in the picture.
