The price never was $649, its called hyperbole or lying, take your pick.

Do you have a bike that needs a rear mount?
An inframe kit is the way to go.

Yes, it is not a very popular kit.

That rear mount kit is not a good design, very top heavy and clunky,

I wouldn't buy one and I also would not recommend Gasbike for providing
warranty after the sale.
 
i would suspect that there was a huge mark-up, and a huge mark-down. and then i would think that for 299 plus the cost of the bike, i might as well buy an old dodge dart.
 
I get all my engines and transmissions for my bikes from staton, his products are made in the usa and he knows his stuff. It might be a little more $ but you get what you pay for.
