The quality of "China copy" of solex engine is beneath all criticism. have had to replace the piston, fuel pump, screws, fix the clutch etc.. but fortunately it fit original parts from solex. have been doing some test rides, but there is no speed monster directly! peaks around 20kmh, but it is enough for it to qualify as a moped. now running perfectly legal with a traffic insurance

Did today a little longer test drive about 30km, it went perfectly, fuel consumption approx 4dl gasoline Average speed according to GPS 25.3 kmh little faster than I thought it would go!

Made a new front fender bracket that is also attached to the muffler. Was in the same style as the "original" Solex, I have also found an old taillight that I think would be a good fit

Both are unique and great looking bikes!! I especially like the integrated top tube fuel tank on the orange bike. I would like to do something similiar to that one for my next build.

Even the real solex was never much of a speed setup...like you said, it's for comfy cruising.
