Unusual Clutch Pad Wear

How much damage is being done when you go from a stop and work the clutch and throttle like you would in a manual car, is it noticeable by years that they wear faster or is it just a little but more wear? I prefer letting out the clutch than starting by pedaling except when I'm crossing busy roads.
 
Alright pedaling it is then, what speed should you get up to aprox before letting out the clutch?
 
I've gone almost 6000 miles on my bike and almost never pedal from a stop. I have never replaced my clutch pads and they still work fine. They have worn down about 30% of the usable material though.
