unusual chain tensioner

I saw two motorized bikes parked next to Joey B's Restaurant and Hampton and Columbia ave in St. Louis today (If it's your contact me) both bikes had an unusual chain tensioner. it connected to both the chain stay and the seat stay with 3 connecting points. I have never seen one like that, it didn't look homebrew. I haven't seen then sold by any of the usual sellers. Is anyone familiar with these type? I wish I would have taken a picture but I had my kids in the car and it would have been kind of unsafe.

There is a commercially available tensioner bracket like what you describe. I don't have a name or a link but the concept is the best approach to mounting a tensioner, IF, you have to use one. Bridging the seat and chain stay is good assurance that the tensioner won't loosen and be dragged inward into the spokes.

I've used the method but I weld the bracket to the frame.
