ultra noob CDI question

Can an old 6v ignition coil be used on a China girl build in place of or in conjunction with the stock CDI

I.m still getting the pieces together for my bike and came across some vintage Ford 6v coils
Is there a way to use one.; If not my plan originally was to just open it up, gut it and stuff the CDI inside
 
The CDI module has its own coil built into it, so it can't be used in conjunction with your coil.
You can either gut the coil and put the CDI inside, or build your own CDI for use with your coil from some of the schematics found in this forum.
