Twist shift with throttle question

I'm building a Roadmaster and with the handle bar mounted indexed twist shifters

how are y'all incorporating the shifter with the throttle
 
If you have enough handlebar length simply loosen the shifter where it clamps to the bars and slide it inboard. On all but the shortest handlebars there's usually enough room to mount both throttle and shifter.
In addition, you'll probably find that the shifter becomes redundant. Once you get things running right, the only time you'll pedal is starting the engine. From there, the pedals are just for a place to put your feet so shifting becomes unessessary.

That's what I did on the Point Beach
The only issue I had is that it makes the bars cluttered and the brake levers to far away

I think I'll be using the dual pull with integral throttle type brake lever so i can stick the shifter on the back side of all that

Personally I see no use for them at all, unless a shift kit is going to be used
If I wanted to pedal I wouldn't buy a motor

but people want what they want and if they want to pay me for it I'll pretend to want it for them
 
i have a shifter/brake handle combo.

it's the kind where to shift down you push the thumb handle in, but to shift up you click the handle on top with your index.

thinking it'll make for fast shifts with the shift kit
