trike motor kit

noob here. i tried a search already. i cant find any info on a kit the helps you mount a motor in the back of a trike. does one exist. something like a plate that bolts up to the holes in the trike frame kit.

kind of an advanced project for a first build but heck winter is coming.

thanks guys. spooky is the closest to what i want so maybe they can help me get it done.
a plate that can mount the motor with a slot for the chain so it can be run vertically. the wheels are turning.

spooky said no dice. since i have never built one i have no idea why. if you built two mounts off the frame to mount the motor why cant you run the chain vertically.

i only want to mount it there because the one i am reproducing had it there. here is a pic of the bike and what i have to start with. the royal scot i have to start with looks like a good frame to mount a motor. it also looks to be able to handle a trike rear end.

since its my first any comments or suggestions would be helpful.

The Trike With The White Walls Looks Like It Is Worth More Than My Car. Lol. Not What You Are Planning But I Will Take And Post A Pic Of My Friction Drive Trike. It Was Very Easy And Simple. I Think A Titan Friction Drive Would Be About As Trouble Free As Any BUILD. Ron . cvlt1

I Meant A Standard Friction Drive With The Titan 4 Stroke Motor. I Have A Titan On My Cvt Dual Suspension Bike Now. I Took Pics This Morning, Will Post Pics Tonite. Ron

if you could rig a low, rack-type mount in the back, I don't see why Spooky's set-up wont work
I have built a trike using his whole arraingment...it should work
the trike rear will extend the back (bolts to orig drop-outs), so, a mount up tight to your seat-stays will work
as an example...check out how George from tuscon's trike is mounted

thats what i was thinking about. there is room to mount the motor mounts on the trike frame. there are two horizontal bars unused. is there any reason why you cant run the chain vertically.

i think i need to get the trike kit first. what motor should i use. price is not an issue. i just want to make sure it will handle my 215# and the extra heft of the trike kit.

Thanks for the pics Saddletramp. I've been wanting to put a Staton Subaru friction drive on a Schwinn Meridian for a long time. How do you like your trike? Any problems?
