I like 1.75 myself- they are cheap and roll very well
they cut a lot of weight down and vibration but still durable

Give you much more clearance-

You'd have to switch tubes too under 2.25 probably

you can get 26" down to 1.25- I'd probably run 1.5 myself if I ran 26"- but they wera a little faster-
search them on amazon and ebay- Amazon is usually a little cheaper on tires

I like 27" and 700c, which really roll across small bumps on pavement and smooth ride

well my set up is as follows...

huffy nel lusso
jet 66 angle fire

sprockets dont line up with the rear one fliped out. and tire is to wide to clear front sprocket.

i realy dont want to change wheels at this time not in my budget:(

how narow of a tire can i go with these rims?

I recommend a 26x1.95-2.0 tire. Should give you the clearance you need. You can go down to 1.75 if you wish.

Anything more narrow might give your tire a squarish profile, reducing your handling "feel".
