Threadless Fork In a Threaded Frame?

I have an old steel frame that I'm building into a motorbike right now. I also have a newer aluminum frame mountain bike with a suspension fork.

Does anyone know whether it's possible to put the threadless headset fork onto the threaded headset frame, if the steer tubes are the same diameter?
