Third wheel

I'm new here,I have a question.In the late fifties and early sixties in my town a guy had a third wheel assembly on his bike.It pivoted up and down as his would lean his bike left and right.Briggs and stratton type engine ,chain drive, small pnuematic tire on a horizontal platform mounted on rear side.Is anybody here familiar with this set up?

EVentually B & S bought the rights to the design, and named it the Motor Wheel-
Bicycle ' Motor Wheel' at the Heart of Briggs & Stratton History
