right on...no enemy here, mabman. I had had a couple drinks and a toke or two last night, which partially explains the uninhibited nature of my response. There are things they do very well in china, and other things not so much.
Like Joe said, they don't even build there own aircraft, and they're army has been described as the largest museum of outdated weaponry in the world. They had to buy one of Russia's first generation (50's era) aircraft carriers a few years ago, just so they could take it all apart and copy the design...to be sure, they are decades behind in military and aviation technology.
However, they do have the machines to make anything they can copy (including US currency, by the way). My buddy has a business selling blown diesel motors to China. You can pick them up for around $700-$900, fill a shipping container, and then sell them for $1500 each in China. This is because no machine shop in the states will invest the time and parts to rebuild them here, but over there they can rebuild them to new condition and sell them for around $5000. This is all due to the fact that in America, we tend to throw things out instead of just fixing them. I rekon it won't be long before those engines come back around to being re-sold in the states...they're already doing it with high output generators. I can get a 25kv, Japanese, diesel generator (a $20,000 machine new) that has been totally rebuilt down to the bearings in China, delivered on the west coast for around $6000! Nobody else in the world can do rebuilds for less...
well, anyway, I'll try to stick to sober posting in the future, as not to offend...everybody here has been so helpful, the last thing I want to do is piss ANYBODY off...merry Christmas.
Hugs.
