Technical question about going from center mount to rack?

If I want to mount a grubee 4g t-belt setup above the rear (custom mount), but the gearbox will be assembled horizontally.(like a center frame mounted one.) Can I run it this way as a rear mount? If not, can I simply remove the 4g belt box, rotate it 90 degrees, and reattach it? .weld.dd. Any other ideas to make this easier?

I would just go ahead and run it normally, but I'd be concerned if this would put too much twisting force on the place where the gearbox is attached to the engine.cvlt1

I believe the rack mounts have a different carb,,,with a diaphram to pull the gas up to the carb

Should work, but as Bill said, need to have a tank above the engine or a carb that draws up.

Look here, they show a rack mount 4G mounted like you said:

Okay, so gas tank above... check. I see the picture, but is the gearbox in said picture actually manufactured to be mounted vertically, or has it simply been detached, rotated, and re-attached?

In other words, are the mounting bolts or whatever for the gearbox symmetrical on a square pattern or whatever, or will it not fit after the rotation? I need to be absolutely certain about this.
