Stripped threads on clutch disc. HELP!

I've been unable to remove the large gear that has the clutch pads in it because part of the threads where the puller tool goes are stripped out. What can I do to get around this since I wont be able to use the puller tool to get it off? Are there other ways to do it? PLEASE HELP! I've attached a pic below.

You can try to pry it from the sides, wood wedges tapped in around the gear where possible then tap the center shaft with a hammer. Be careful not to damage the shaft threads.

Put a nut on it so put so you wont hit the end and threads
