I've posted several ads here and there because something came up and I need cash fast. Decided to get rid of all the two wheels and their related stuffs that I don't use anymore.
I bought this bike thinking with some fabrication, I could mount a motor inside the frame but never gathered up enough funds for the motorization.
However, this would make a great friction drive or rack mount bike.
It's a Mongoose XR250. Front disc brake, 21 Speed, lever shifter, 26x2.30(looks really solid and thick in person) tires, rear suspension, front fairing, and really cool shaped spokes on the extra deep V-shaped rims(also looks really cool when you see it in person). Specialized thorn proof tubes. Torn seat is replaced with gel padded seat.
Thick, well welded/fabricated alluminium frame sturdy and light at the same time.
I know this is no Trek or other brand name bike, but this is a great sub $500 MTB (MSRP around $300) for both motorization or entry level mountain biking. Other than a few Walmart bike defects like pedals falling off which I replaced with more durable ones, this got me around in my university campus reliably when I wasn't riding my motorcycle or moped.
$120 dollars OBO.
Helmet, $35 dollars
