my seat post measures 1 inch and my stem meas. 7/8. just wondering what the metris fquivalent is on those..also when measurind the handle bar do i measure the tube or the actual part that fits inside the stem? thanx for any help
Remember the number 25.4 Divide millimeters by 25.4 to get inches. Multiply inches by 25.4 to get millimeters. Remember, inches must be converted to decimals. Example.....
yeah, if anyone's interested, an imperial lathe (with it's orig imperial gearset) is well able to cut near-enough metric threads - i can't remember the tolerances except to say that no further investment on gearing would be required for pretty much any motorcycle work at all - the 'near enough' tolerances of an imperial lathe/std gearset turn out to be very very close indeed in theory & well and truly close enough for real-world practical purposes...
just in case anyone's thinking of buying an engineer's lathe
heck of a lot of milling ops can be done on the lathe too...
