Sea level c-clip position

I live in San Diego at sea level and I'm wondering which spot I need to put the c-clip on the throttle cable pin.

What carb do you have NT, CNS, ext. and how many positions does the needle alow you to change 3, 5,? I live in monterey at sea level and find that with my NT Speed carb with 5 selectable positions the second from the top to the thrid from the top is the best. How to check, If it bogs from low to mid range it needs more fule. So lower the clip. If it bogs at high rpm range you need a bigger jet.

recon chris, defo right about the clip position, but a better/safer way to see if you've the proper fuel/air mix is to check plug electrode coloration after a run when the engine has cooled (brown/tan = perfect, black = too rich, raise clip & gray = too lean, lower clip).

Jus' as a BTW, "bogging" is usually a symptom of fuel starvation, which could be an improperly vented tank (cap), clogged fuel line/filter, but more often than not incorrectly adjusted float height ;)
