I built this maybe 10 years ago for my daughter. I'd seen a guy that had a business washing peoples cars while they were at work. He made it around with a friction drive on the front wheel and the thing caught my attention. I'd recently purchased a Visa Viper scooter for her and really liked the Honda GX 31 engine combined with the Visa 5:1 reduction gearbox with the centrifugal clutch and integral mounting base.
I built the frame and sourced from BMX and mountain bike parts that were outdated/discounted except the insanely priced leather seat.
I knew the final drive for the engine was too tall but it didn't matter with the light load of a child. With greater parts availability today, I'll be picking up a left hand freewheel to adapt a larger sprocket. Also, I'll strip the frame and powder coat it.
