Remove Shifter and Brakes?

Hi, I am new to these forums and i have a question.
I bought a mountain bike that has a shifter and brakes on each side of handle bars. I am planning on buying the Black SD Stinger motor kit and was wondering if i have to remove the shift or brakes to install my throttle and such?

sometimes folks will remove the front derailer to make more room for the motor and sometimes folks like to get larger & more comfortable handlebars - but it can all usually be made to fit what you have if you move the shifters in toward the center more
