Quick Fuel Filter Question

Hi guys, I recently just built my first motorized bike. This will probably be a silly question for some of you, but can you put the fuel filter on the wrong way? I’ve already installed mine and on most of the videos I’ve seen it’s been done the other way. Will this affect anything negatively?

There should be an arrow on the filter showing the flow direction. If not, this is the proper orientation.
