I don't know about that, but they don't just jump apart lol. It takes some force. You could probably make due with a 12 ton press, but 20 ton is easier.
It's the satisfaction derived from fixing your own chit and making it work, not just buying new parts and slapping them on.
And spending the least as is possible plays a factor as well. It's not like I am going to pay a lot of money to fix a 35-40 dollar crankshaft, unless it's the only path to satisfaction.
