Pullstart?

It seems that these pull starts are best used on engines equipped with a centrifugal clutch. They tend to break when used on engines with the stock manual clutch due to the additional load from the little/big gears used with the clutch.

A pull start installed on an engine with manual clutch lasted about one season, other engines with the centrifugal clutch and pull start are still going after three seasons.

I think whipaway is got a good point there. It's real hard too pull with out the centrifugal clutch. That's why they break.I'm a victim of that first hand.

Well I just put some thought into it and thought how would you idle the engine coming to a stop sign and red light using a pullstart?

I have a clutch lever on my bike so I guess thats not a centrifugal clutch.
