Pullstart?

I bought an engine from bikemotorkit.com and its a Stinger engine 66cc. I was wondering if I bought a pullstart setup here http://www.piratecycles1.com/pull-start-for-6680-eng6680.html would it work? It looks like the same engine just different company.

It shows that the pull start that you're looking at is out of stock.Here is one that is cheaper and in stock that should work.Just remember they're all china parts so you have to be a little careful with them.

It seems that these pull starts are best used on engines equipped with a centrifugal clutch. They tend to break when used on engines with the stock manual clutch due to the additional load from the little/big gears used with the clutch.

A pull start installed on an engine with manual clutch lasted about one season, other engines with the centrifugal clutch and pull start are still going after three seasons.

I think whipaway is got a good point there.It's real hard too pull with out the centrifugal clutch.That's why they break.I'm a victim of that first hand.

Well I just put some thought into it and thought how would you idle the engine coming to a stop sign and red light using a pullstart?

I have a clutch lever on my bike so I guess thats not a centrifugal clutch.

it'll idle fine if you hold in the clutch lever
