Yesterday I attended the National Motorcycle Museum's 4th annual swap meet & vintage bike show http://www.nationalmcmuseum.org/vintage-rally-2014-will-be-june-7-8/
This year I entered Robert Thumper even though it’s still in primer. Apparently a pinprick gas tank leak had ruined the original metal flake paint. Last winter I striped the tin’s and resealed the tank, and hopefully that takes care of that! 1st place in motorized bicycles.
Attendance was down this year, not surprising given it was cloudy & gloomy with a 50% chance of server afternoon t-storms. But rain held off and it only began to sprinkle after the winners were announced.
Sadly Bicycle Bill wasn’t able to attend this year, but I fortunately made a some new friends! In particular I meet a interesting fellow named Dan who owns Ichi Bikes in Des Moines Iowa- http://www.ichibike.com/
He specializes in ratty electric powered builds and entered one and also China Girl powered bike into the competition.
Anyway the real point of this post (and the reason it’s in the BT & VMB section) is to share pic’s from the Museum!

Sorry I still just have that crappy old camera, so it’s quantity over quality-
But I think you’ll get the just. A couple of highlights for me, a original paint 1908 Harley and a restored 1903 Indian- To put that in perspective, Harley only build 450 bikes in ‘08 and Indian didn’t even exceed 500 bikes overall until 1904
As always, I highly recommend a visit if you find your self in this neck of the woods!
