Oil dripping???

I have a 49cc 2 stroke engine kit with less than a tank of fuel through it. When it sits at night there will be a few drops of oil on the floor from the head. It looks to be coming from the head gasket. The engine seems to run fine, but this has me worried. I have cheched the head studs, but am not sure what to do next. Any suggestions?

Could this "oil" be dripping from the head where the muffler mounts? That would be my guess and is "normal' as the gasket always seems to leak a bit.

Maybe, I will check it out better. I am so new at this, and it has been 30 years since I had much to do with 2 strokes. Thanks for the reply.

Also- sometimes when the carb leaks, it will run down the fins and come off the engine in the front, looking like a head gasket or exhaust leak.

So, what did you find?

Well, it's been about a month or so and I am happy to say that that Ford EGR gasket idea i got from here is still working like new. Yes, I had to trim the inner edges of the two stud holes with side cutters/snips to make it fit but the metal gasket is the best I have ever seen. I have a feeling it will outlast me.
